Rock This Party

This morning, we went to the hall to do some dancing and the song we danced to was Rock This Party. Kate was the person who taught us and she was really good at dancing. I thought we were going to watch a show, so I was surprised. It was good.

Pictures in the Mind

I have been practising using words in my writing that give readers pictures in their minds.
On the 14th of November, my whole school was excited about Athletics Day because we got to do discus. We got to do vortex. We got to do high jump.We got to do long jump and running and we got to compete against each other.
In high jump, I ran as fast as a car up to the black and orange bar and jumped and did a scissor-kick over the bar and on a big green mat.
A lot of people didn’t make it because they didn’t jump high enough and they hit the bar and, finally, there were three people. Josh, Moses and me, and the first one who hit the bar was Moses and then Josh hit the bar and that means I won.

Elgrego's Magic Show

Yesterday Elgrego came to our school and performed magic in an antibullying show.

When we were ready, Elgrego began his magic by birds appear. He put three birds in a box and he put a blanket over the box. When he took the blanket off, the birds had turned in to a big fat rabbit and he made a bird  climb up his hands. It was captivating.
He next did a fizzy drink trick. He put some fizzy drink in a cup and he put the drink in a box called the up and down box. He closed the lid and he turned the box upside down and he opened the box upside down and nothing came out.
After the drink trick, Elgrego talked with Seemore, the baby green dinosaur. A ventriloquist is a person who talks for a parrot.
Elgrego made Seemore come out of his egg, then Seemore told Elgrego and us about him because the other dinosaurs were teasing him because he was green. Elgrego told Seemore to use his wits - Walk away, Ignore, Tell someone, Say, "Stop it. I don't like it."

My Dad is the Best

Do you want to hear about the best dad in the world?
My dad is the best because he used to be a good motor cross rider before a person crashed into him.
He wrecks bikes and he sells parts.  Once, my Dad made 3 and a half grand in a day.
My dad makes heaps of mess for my mum to clean up.

My dad is the best.

My Wonderful Mother

My mother is wonderful because when I’m sick, she feels my head to make sure it is not too hot.

Sometimes I take my ball to the pools. I throw the ball  to my Mum and then she throws the ball back.
Sometimes my mum and I play fight.  My Mum always wins.

My Mum helps me with my homework if I don’t know how to do it.  She washes my clothes and makes my lunch.  Sometimes, we have to use the laundromat in town and I wait with her.  I help her fold it.
My Mum helps my Dad at his work - she wraps the parcels and makes him food.

Crashing My Aeroplane

One day, the other week, I really wanted to fly my plane at my home, so I put my plane on the tramp.  I pushed the throttle on the control forwards to make the plane take off. The flaps were up and it went over the house. I was feeling a bit scared because I thought the plane might hit the house and break the tiles. I turned the flaps down to make the plane go down. I knew it would go over the bank so I made the plane turn by pushing the switch on the control to the right. It turned but I couldn't see it and its wing hit my mum's car and the other wing hit the blackish blue stones on the driveway. The plane hit the ground. My sisters and I ran to it. When we came to it, we thought it had landed properly because it was on its wheels. I picked it up and I saw that the piece to hold the wings down was broken. I told my dad and I put it on his workbench. He wasn't that angry, but I was sad.

A Fishy Tale

One day, at Mount Maunganui, my sister and I were at the wharf.
We saw a boy who had caught a sting-ray.  A big man was trying to cut the tail off the sting-ray. The sting-ray whipped the man’s legs and he had to go to hospital.

CRASH! BASH! Motorbike

One day, I was at my house and I crashed my bike. I was riding my bike down past a bank. I hit a pump and I landed on the side of my bike, then I went down another bank. My mud guard got caught on the grass. My mud guard broke off!! I couldn't get my bike up the bank. I wasn't hurt. I had to turn off my gas and then walk back past the bank, down a hill to my Dad's shop.
Dad was angry. He said. "What did you go down there for?"
He jumped on his scooter and got my bike. He had to fix it in time for motorcross.

Swimming Sports

Yesterday, my school went to the swimming sports in town.
When we got to the town pool, everyone had to go in their houses. I lined up in my swimming event.  I was after the 8 year olds. Mr Emms said jump in the water 9 year olds. The water felt like razor blades. Mr Emms said go. We all went. I took a breath. I was swimming as hard as I could. I beat them all.

James
Sporty, hungry, cheeky, greedy
Son of Cecelia and Wayne
Who loves cars, motorcross and scootering
Who feels bored, tired and afraid
Who needs a helicopter, pizza and toy cars
Who gives cars, googles and rubbers
Who fears crashes, ghosts and wasps
Who would like an Ipod, a computer and a phone
Who lives in Ngaruawahia, NZ

Motocross

One day, I went out side to ride my four wheeler.
I went to my dad. He got some gas.
After a while, my dad's friend came over. His name was Daryl King. I got my four wheeler going.
I went up a hill. My dad told me to come down. I hit a lamp post. I had to get stitches in my lip.

Waitangi Day.

Waitangi Day was the day we remember when the Treaty of Waitangi was signed. It is the day when NZ became a nation called  New Zealand.  It is a holiday to celebrate the Treaty getting signed.
The Treaty of Waitangi was signed in 1840 in the Bay of Islands. 500 Maori chiefs and  representatives of the Queen signed it.

On Waitangi Day, this year, I went to the Warehouse and I got two toy bikes and one car. The bike is a motorbike and the other bike is a roadbike and the car I already have.
